Fruit Cocktail Cake

1 1/2 cup white sugar
2 cup flour
2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2  eggs
1 cup (14oz) fruit cocktail with juice
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup cream or milk
1/2 cup margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla

Beat eggs slightly.  Add all ingredients except flour.  Add flour.
Bake in 9X13" greased pan for 45 minutes at 350.
Boil sugar, milk, and margarine.  Add vanilla and pour over hot cake.
Makes alot but use all of it.  Serve warm or cold with whipped cream
or vanilla ice cream.  Keeps refrigerated for several days.
